The Kenyan government has announced a historic decision to exempt nationals of all African countries, including Morocco, from the requirement of electronic visas, with the exception of Somalia and Libya, due to internal security concerns.
According to Kenyan media reports, this step aims to strengthen regional integration within the African continent, accelerate the movement of people between its countries, and support the growth of tourism in Kenya and other African nations.
This initiative is part of Kenya’s vision to enhance cooperation between African countries in various fields, especially tourism and trade. Visitors from African countries will be able to stay in Kenya for up to two months upon arrival, allowing them more time to explore the country and strengthen economic and cultural ties.
Citizens of East African Community (EAC) member states will benefit from additional advantages under this initiative, as they will be able to stay in Kenya for six months, thanks to agreements signed within the framework of freedom of movement between the community’s countries.
In the same context, the Kenyan Cabinet has directed several ministries, including those of the Treasury, Transport, Internal Affairs, and Tourism, to prepare comprehensive guidelines to improve the travel experience at Kenyan airports within a week, in line with these new facilitation measures. This step aims to ensure the comfort of travelers and enhance Kenya’s image as a leading tourist and economic destination in Africa.
This initiative marks a new beginning towards strengthening cooperation among African countries and providing a favorable environment for the flow of tourists and investors, contributing to building a brighter future for the African continent.
