Morocco, Syria Reaffirm Willingness to Bolster Multisectoral Cooperation

The Kingdom of Morocco and the Syrian Arab Republic reaffirmed on Thursday their shared willingness to strengthen their bilateral cooperation in various fields.

This will was expressed during talks held in Rabat between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and the Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani.

Both parties welcomed the positive dynamic characterizing the relations between the two sister countries and reaffirmed their determination to give them new momentum in all fields, to advance them toward new horizons, and to elevate their cooperation to a higher level.

In this context, both parties agreed to initiate a review of the legal and institutional frameworks governing their bilateral relations, in line with their shared ambitions. This step aims to equip the partnership between the two countries with more modern and effective mechanisms that are better adapted to current challenges.

Both parties also underscored the need to inject new momentum into cooperation across various strategic sectors – whether political, economic, commercial, cultural, or humanitarian – in order to open new prospects and strengthen the historical and fraternal ties uniting the two sister peoples.

Minister Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani is conducting this Thursday his first official visit to the Kingdom, heading a large delegation from the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the aim of giving new momentum to the relations between the two sister countries.
