Morocco international Abde Essadek Ez Abde will miss the national team’s upcoming matches against Gabon and Lesotho, scheduled for September 25 and 29 respectively, as part of the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Real Betis player apologized to head coach Mohamed Ouahbi and declined the call-up due to his health condition. He also asked the Royal Moroccan Football Federation for permission to remain absent until he fully recovers and regains his fitness.
Ez Abde’s injury had previously ruled him out of Morocco’s squad for the 2026 World Cup in the United States. The player has also yet to make an official appearance for Real Betis this season, either in La Liga or the UEFA Champions League.
Meanwhile, Morocco are set to face Gabon on September 25 before taking on Lesotho on September 29, as part of the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
