New Xi Jinping book explores ecological civilization

A new book highlighting Chinese President Xi Jinping’s vision for environmental protection and the building of an ecological civilization has been published in China by the Higher Education Press and the People’s Publishing House.
The publication comes amid the transformation of China’s environmental policy in recent years, particularly since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2012, when environmental protection and the conservation of natural resources became key components of the country’s approach to sustainable development.
The book examines the evolution of China’s approach to ecological issues, noting that the central leadership of the Communist Party of China, with Xi Jinping at the forefront, has worked during this period to develop policies, practices and institutions related to environmental protection, while also promoting the renewal of the theoretical framework underpinning this field.
Comprising an introduction and nine chapters, and totaling around 170,000 Chinese characters, the book provides a comprehensive examination of what is known as “Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization.” It systematically explores the theoretical foundations of this thought, its significance and main content, as well as the principles and practical requirements associated with its implementation.
The publication reflects China’s continued official emphasis on linking environmental protection with the development process, while presenting the country’s ecological experience within an integrated framework that combines theoretical perspectives with practical policies.
