From New York.. Sahel Confederation Countries Praise King Mohammed VI’s Vision and Atlantic Access Initiative

On the occasion of a high-level event devoted to the theme of “Security and Development in the Sahel Region”, organized by the Confederation of Sahel States on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, ministers from the Confederation’s member states praised, in their addresses, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, following the reception granted to them by the Sovereign in April 2025.

The ministers stressed that this reception, which took place within the framework of the strong and longstanding relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the three brotherly countries forming the Alliance of Sahel States, “marked a turning point in international support for the Confederation of Sahel States.”

During this high-level event, the ministers of the Sahel countries also particularly welcomed the initiative of His Majesty King Mohammed VI aimed at strengthening the access of Sahel countries to the Atlantic Ocean.
