The Moroccan capital, Rabat, hosted on Monday evening a high-level diplomatic reception celebrating the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The event was attended by a distinguished gathering of Moroccan and foreign political, diplomatic, and cultural figures.
The occasion also marked the official introduction of Her Excellency Ms. Yu Jinsong, the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Kingdom of Morocco, who received a warm welcome from attendees praising the depth of bilateral relations between Rabat and Beijing.
In her address, the Chinese ambassador expressed her pride in representing her country in Morocco, stressing her commitment to further strengthening strategic cooperation between the two nations in areas such as investment, education, culture, and scientific exchange.
The ceremony was also highlighted by the participation of Minister of Health and Social Protection, Amine Tehraoui, who delivered a speech underlining the strength of Morocco–China relations and their promising future. He reaffirmed his ministry’s readiness to expand bilateral cooperation in healthcare, scientific research, and medical technology transfer, while encouraging joint investment in the pharmaceutical industry and medical innovation.
Mr. Tehraoui further highlighted the value of China’s experience in social protection, describing it as an inspiring model for knowledge-sharing and for enhancing Morocco’s national programs.
The reception was also attended by prominent Moroccan political figures, including former Prime Minister Saadeddine El Othmani, Party of Progress and Socialism Secretary General Nabil Benabdallah, and former Olympic champion and IOC Vice President Nawal El Moutawakel, who all expressed their appreciation for the progress of bilateral relations.
This major diplomatic event stands as a testament to the depth of Morocco–China relations, which have made significant strides since the establishment of the strategic partnership in 2016, and sends a clear message: the coming stage will be marked by renewed momentum driven by the shared will of both leaderships.
The evening concluded in a festive and cordial atmosphere, reflecting the spirit of friendship and cooperation between the two peoples and a strong commitment to advancing their partnership to broader horizons.
