Morocco–China relations have taken a new step forward. On Friday in Beijing, Nasser Bourita, Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, and his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, signed a memorandum of understanding establishing a mechanism for strategic dialogue between the two capitals.
The agreement builds on the strategic partnership sealed in 2016 by His Majesty King Mohammed VI and President Xi Jinping, and reflects a shared determination to inject new momentum into high-level political dialogue, grounded in trust, mutual respect, and understanding.

Beyond its diplomatic dimension, the memorandum opens concrete prospects: strengthening bilateral coordination, diversifying economic exchanges, and expanding investment opportunities. This dynamic aligns with China’s “Belt and Road” initiative and aims to reinforce both countries’ influence on the international stage.

By signing this memorandum, Rabat and Beijing reaffirm their resolve to build a stronger partnership, capable of adapting to global shifts and advancing their shared interests.
