As part of a high-level working visit by a Ghanaian delegation to the Kingdom of Morocco, a series of significant bilateral agreements were announced, aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two countries across a range of sectors—from education and vocational training to food security and infrastructure.
One of the most notable outcomes of the visit was the decision to double the number of scholarships granted to Ghanaian students at Moroccan educational institutions. The annual quota will increase from 70 to 140 scholarships, opening new horizons for Ghanaian youth to benefit from the high-quality education available in Morocco.
In a move that reflects Morocco’s commitment to strengthening food security across the continent, the Kingdom announced a donation of 2,000 tons of fertilizer to Ghana, aimed at supporting local farmers. Additionally, an agreement was reached to provide technical assistance to establish a modern fertilizer production plant on Ghanaian soil—marking a qualitative leap forward for the country’s agricultural sector.
In preparation for the relaunch of the national airline “Ghana Airways,” a number of young Ghanaians will undergo training at Morocco’s renowned aviation academy. This initiative will equip them with internationally recognized skills in civil aviation.
The two sides also agreed to launch an academic exchange program, allowing Moroccan students to enroll at the Ghana Maritime University and other Ghanaian institutions. This initiative aims to foster cultural and intellectual exchange that will benefit both nations.
Morocco is set to host a major economic forum in October 2025, bringing together Moroccan and Ghanaian businesses. The event is expected to boost bilateral investments and explore partnership opportunities in promising sectors.
During the visit, a set of priority projects was identified for development. These include the expansion of seaports, the development of the railway network, the strengthening of the textile industry, and support for the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector.
These agreements reflect a shared vision for effective Afro-African cooperation, based on equitable partnerships and mutual development.
