ALDAR /
The African Union Commissioner for Economic Development, Tourism, Trade, Industry and Minerals, Francisca Tatchouop Belobe, has praised the achievements made by Morocco under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, describing the Kingdom as a leading African model in industrial and economic development.
Speaking in Rabat on Monday following talks with Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, the senior African official highlighted the remarkable progress achieved by Morocco’s industrial sector in recent years.
Belobe stressed that Morocco has successfully established itself as one of Africa’s foremost industrial hubs, particularly in the automotive and aerospace industries. Both sectors have experienced sustained growth, becoming key pillars of the national economy and major drivers of international investment.
The African Union Commissioner also underscored Morocco’s important role in advancing South-South cooperation through the sharing of its expertise and successful development experiences with fellow African countries. Such efforts, she noted, contribute significantly to supporting industrialization and economic development across the continent.
In the same context, she highlighted Morocco’s initiatives to develop an integrated value chain for critical minerals, which are increasingly recognized as strategic resources essential to supporting global industrial and technological transformations while strengthening Africa’s economic sovereignty.
Belobe further expressed her appreciation for the continuous support provided by His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the African Union Commission, commending Morocco’s contribution to development and economic initiatives aimed at promoting integration, prosperity, and sustainable growth throughout Africa.
The Commissioner’s remarks reflect the growing prominence of Morocco on the African stage, driven by a forward-looking development vision and an ambitious industrial strategy that have positioned the Kingdom as a key partner in Africa’s economic integration and development projects.
