The city of Haikou, capital of Hainan Province in southern China, hosted the opening of the 11th edition of the China-Arab Business Leaders’ Forum, featuring a distinguished participation from Morocco, which was selected as the guest of honor for this edition.

The Moroccan delegation is led by His Majesty the King’s Ambassador to China, Abdelkader Ansari, accompanied by representatives from the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), Bank of Africa Group, and Attijariwafa Bank, reflecting the growing depth of economic relations between Rabat and Beijing.

On this occasion, a Moroccan pavilion was set up at the Haikou International Convention and Exhibition Center, where the Kingdom showcased its investment opportunities, rich tourism assets, and various elements of its cultural heritage through written, audio, and visual materials. The pavilion attracted significant interest from visitors and participants, further reinforcing Morocco’s position as a strategic partner for China in the Arab region.

This year’s forum brings together over a thousand participants, including local business figures and Moroccan entrepreneurs residing in China. Over two days, it gathers a wide range of economic actors to discuss future cooperation prospects. Specialized sessions are also being held, focusing on energy transition, scientific and technological innovation, the integration of culture and tourism, and the development of financial cooperation.

The forum will conclude with the presentation of the recommendations and outcomes of the meetings, followed by field visits to various economic zones in Hainan Province, including the Wenchang Space Launch Center and the Yangpu Economic Development Zone.

Established in 2005, the China-Arab Business Leaders’ Forum has gradually become a key platform for strengthening economic and trade exchanges between China and Arab countries. Hainan Province, where the event is being held, is a special economic zone whose economy mainly relies on tourism, agriculture, and fishing, and which, through attractive investment policies, seeks to draw increased foreign capital.
