In a reflection of the Moroccan healthcare sector’s ambition to expand internationally, Rachid Taleb, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Morocco’s leading private healthcare group “Akdital,” announced that the group plans to invest $400 million to build state-of-the-art hospitals in four major Gulf cities.
Taleb stated in an interview with Asharq Business that the projects will include the Saudi capital Riyadh and the city of Jeddah, in addition to Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates. This move falls within the group’s strategy to extend its medical operations beyond Morocco and strengthen its presence in markets witnessing a growing demand for advanced healthcare services.
Taleb added that these investments aim to transfer Akdital’s successful model in Morocco to the Gulf countries by establishing medical facilities that meet the highest medical and technological standards, with a focus on offering comprehensive healthcare services across a wide range of medical specialties.
Akdital is one of the most prominent players in Morocco’s private healthcare sector. It owns and operates several advanced clinics across various cities in the Kingdom and is known for employing highly qualified medical staff and utilizing modern equipment.
This step is expected to enhance Moroccan-Gulf cooperation in the medical field and could pave the way for further Moroccan investments in other sectors across the region.
