Morocco and Spain Agree to Strengthen Coordination and Expedite the Return of Irregular Migrants Who Entered the Occupied City of Ceuta

As part of ongoing security coordination between Rabat and Madrid, Morocco and Spain have agreed to strengthen their level of coordination and intensify joint efforts to address irregular migration flows toward the occupied city of Ceuta.

According to the announced agreement, the two countries will review and implement operational measures aimed at ensuring the prompt return and transfer of all individuals who entered the occupied city of Ceuta illegally. The objective is to expedite readmission procedures within the framework of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The agreement reflects the close cooperation between Morocco and Spain in the field of migration management and underscores both countries’ commitment to coordinating operational measures to address the pressures associated with irregular migration flows. It also highlights their determination to accelerate the return of individuals who entered the city through irregular channels, in accordance with the mechanisms agreed upon by the competent authorities of both countries.

This latest step is part of the broader security partnership between Rabat and Madrid, which has been marked by close cooperation in combating irregular migration, dismantling migrant smuggling networks, and strengthening coordinated border management.
