Morocco continues to strengthen its leading position in North Africa regarding economic freedom, according to the latest rankings of the Economic Freedom Index for 2025.

Morocco scored 60.3 points, making significant progress compared to the previous year, reflecting the country’s efforts to improve the business climate and promote economic openness.

This progress comes amid ongoing economic reforms aimed at boosting investments, streamlining administrative procedures, and supporting the private sector, making Morocco a more attractive destination for entrepreneurs and investors. In contrast, neighboring countries such as Algeria and Tunisia lag significantly behind, as their economies face regulatory and structural challenges that hinder the achievement of similar levels of economic freedom.

This ranking reflects Morocco’s continued pursuit of flexible economic policies that strike a balance between structural reforms and maintaining macroeconomic stability, further enhancing its position as a regional economic hub seeking to attract more foreign investments and improve its competitiveness in global markets.
