The Chinese daily Global Times stated that since His Majesty King Mohammed VI ascended to the Throne on July 30, 1999, Morocco has embarked on a comprehensive reform process based on a methodical and forward-looking vision, enabling the Kingdom to achieve remarkable progress in several key sectors.

The Throne Day, celebrated annually on July 30 by Moroccans, embodies the values of national unity and pride in Moroccan identity, and serves as an opportunity to assess the progress achieved over more than a quarter of a century of the Sovereign’s wise leadership.

According to the Chinese media outlet, this journey has been marked by structural reforms that include the development of modern infrastructure — ports, highways, and high-speed rail lines —, the modernization of the economy through diversifying sources of income and promoting investment, as well as the advancement of social sectors such as education, health, and housing. It has also witnessed the launch of major projects in the fields of renewable energy and industry.

The Global Times report further noted that Morocco’s foreign policy has strengthened its position as an influential player regionally and internationally, through strategic partnerships and multilateral cooperation.

For the Chinese daily, Morocco’s success in balancing the preservation of its national identity with openness to the world reflects the strength of the vision guiding King Mohammed VI, and confirms that the Kingdom’s path of reform and development has become a model to follow in the region.
