As part of the high royal attention granted by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, to Moroccans living abroad—especially the younger generation—the Department of Moroccans Residing Abroad, under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Residing Abroad, organized the 16th edition of the Summer University from July 5 to 13, 2025. The event saw the notable participation of 300 young women and men from 30 countries across various continents.

This initiative is part of a comprehensive strategic program that aims to strengthen the cultural and identity ties between the new generations of the Moroccan diaspora and their homeland. It offers rich, interactive, and well-balanced content addressing key contemporary issues, foremost among them the national cause, Moroccan identity, culture, sports, as well as encouraging youth to explore investment opportunities and engage in development projects in Morocco.

The Summer University is more than just an educational event; it is a space of belonging, where doors are opened for these young people to explore the historical depth of their country through field visits to historical and cultural sites. It is also a platform for building bridges between the participants themselves, who come from diverse backgrounds and countries, enabling them to share experiences and discover the common threads that unite them under the banner of one nation.

Since its launch in 2009, the Summer University has welcomed around 4,000 participants, becoming a much-anticipated annual tradition for young Moroccans around the world. It offers them the opportunity to deepen their understanding of their identity, broaden their knowledge of their country’s potential, and strengthen their sense of belonging to a Morocco that never leaves their hearts—despite the distances.

It is more than just a summer university… It is a message from the homeland to its sons and daughters around the world: You are in the heart of the nation. You are its future.
