Bourita and Congolese Counterpart Reaffirm in Rabat Their Determination to Elevate Bilateral Partnership into a Model of African Cooperation

Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, held what were described as fruitful talks on Tuesday in Rabat with the Republic of Congo’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Francophonie and Congolese Abroad, Constant-Serge Bounda. The discussions focused on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and expand the areas of partnership between the two countries.

During the meeting, the two ministers praised the depth and strength of the friendship ties linking the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Congo, stressing that bilateral relations are built on mutual esteem and respect between His Majesty King Mohammed VI and Congolese President Denis Sassou Nguesso.

The two officials also expressed satisfaction with the privileged nature of cooperation between Rabat and Brazzaville, reaffirming their shared determination to inject new momentum into bilateral relations and to make the Morocco-Congo partnership a successful model of African and South-South cooperation.

In this context, the two ministers agreed to convene the next session of the Morocco-Congo Joint Cooperation Commission in the coming months, with the aim of strengthening and diversifying bilateral cooperation in line with the two countries’ ambitions for a more dynamic and effective partnership
