The Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Madagascar have reaffirmed their shared determination to strengthen their relations in a spirit of South-South cooperation.

During a meeting on Tuesday in Rabat between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Madagascar, Alice N’Diaye, emphasis was placed on the dynamic bilateral relations, which reflect the strength of the ties of friendship, mutual respect, and cooperation between Morocco and Madagascar.
On this occasion, the head of Malagasy diplomacy praised the quality of the relations uniting the two countries. She recalled the undeniable and tangible impact of the 2016 visit by His Majesty King Mohammed VI to Madagascar, which helped to further consolidate and revitalize bilateral cooperation in several areas, contributing to the consolidation of sustainable development achievements in this friendly country.
The two ministers welcomed the opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Madagascar in Rabat in November 2024, which will give new impetus to bilateral relations and consolidate the firm will to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
Furthermore, they emphasized that the dynamic of bilateral relations reflects the solid ties of friendship, mutual respect, and cooperation between the two countries. They agreed to elevate the partnership between the two nations to higher levels, in accordance with the Vision and Will of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and His Excellency Colonel Michaël Randrianirina, President of the Refoundation of the Republic of Madagascar.
In this regard, it was agreed to hold the 2nd session of the Joint Cooperation Commission in the coming months, on a date to be mutually agreed upon through diplomatic channels. The objective is to give more substance to and diversify the areas of cooperation, with a focus on priority and high-potential sectors such as agriculture, health, renewable energy, training and capacity building, youth employability, and security.
