The Abou Regreg Conference Palace in Rabat hosted, on the evening of Tuesday, June 30, a ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Morocco and the People’s Republic of China, attended by political, diplomatic, cultural, and media figures.
The event commemorated ten years since the launch of the strategic partnership between the two countries, announced during the historic visit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the People’s Republic of China in May 2016, a milestone that significantly strengthened Moroccan-Chinese relations.

The ceremony was co-chaired by Minister of Health and Social Protection Amine Tahraoui and the Chinese Ambassador to Morocco, Yu Jianzhong, who opened the event with a speech highlighting the strength of bilateral relations and their continuous development across various fields.

The ambassador stated that the first word that best defines the relationship between the two countries is “partnership,” noting that Morocco and China are united by mutual trust, reciprocal support, economic complementarity, cultural and civilizational exchanges, and ever-growing ties between their peoples.

She added that the second key word is “potential,” stressing that bilateral relations hold tremendous opportunities and broad prospects for cooperation across multiple sectors. She reaffirmed China’s readiness to work with Morocco to strengthen mutual political trust, expand practical cooperation, and deepen cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
The ambassador concluded by expressing China’s aspiration to elevate its strategic partnership with Morocco to a higher level during the coming “Golden Decade,” in line with the positive momentum of bilateral relations and in pursuit of the shared interests of both countries.
