Suriname lauded the Royal initiatives for the African Atlantic and Sahel countries, expressing its deep gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for His South-South cooperation vision.

In a joint statement issued following his meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade, and Cooperation of Suriname, Melvin Bouva, expressed “the deep gratitude of the Republic of Suriname to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for His vision of South-South cooperation grounded in mutual respect, efficiency, solidarity, and pragmatism.”

Bouva also “highlighted the significance of this Royal Vision in contributing to sustainable development in the Caribbean region through concrete socio-economic projects.”

The Surinamese top diplomat praised “the enlightened initiative of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, within the framework of the African Atlantic states, aimed at making the African Atlantic space a geostrategic framework for pragmatic cooperation and consultation.”

He further commended “the Royal Initiative for the Sahel, which seeks to enable Atlantic Ocean access for the Sahel countries by connecting them to regional transport and communication networks.”
