Water Cooperation at the Core of Official Talks Between Morocco and China

Mr. Li Guoying, Minister of Water Resources of the People’s Republic of China, paid an official visit to Morocco, where he participated in the 19th World Water Congress, which began on December 1st and continues until the 5th in the city of Marrakech, with the participation of high-level delegations from various countries around the world.

During his visit, the Chinese official held in-depth and productive discussions with several senior Moroccan officials, including Mr. Nizar Baraka, Minister of Equipment and Water, and Mr. Ahmed Bouri, Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests.

The two parties discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in water resources management, combating water scarcity, and developing innovative solutions to adapt to climate change.

They also explored opportunities for exchanging expertise and advanced technologies used in China in the fields of irrigation, dam management, and the protection of natural resources.

These meetings reflect a shared willingness to reinforce the partnership between Morocco and China in a sector considered vital for both countries, especially in the context of growing global challenges related to water security.
