Once again, some foreign media outlets have chosen to persist in spreading misleading narratives about Morocco and its leadership, attempting to undermine the strong bond between Moroccans and their King. Among these outlets is the French newspaper Le Monde, which recently sought to promote a distorted image filled with misleading insinuations about the Moroccan sovereign, His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

What these writers fail to understand is that Moroccans do not measure their relationship with their King based on what is written abroad, but through a daily reality of historical, emotional, and political attachment to his person and the institution of the monarchy. Since ascending the throne in 1999, Mohammed VI has chosen to be a King close to his people, sharing their concerns regarding development and the challenges of the era. This commitment has been reflected in major projects that have transformed the country, from modern infrastructure to social reforms and policies open to Africa and the world.

The insistence of certain newspapers on fabricating “mysteries” around the King only reflects their inability to grasp the secret behind this unique relationship between ruler and subjects in Morocco. The spontaneous affection Moroccans feel for their King is not based on official propaganda, but on a deep conviction that stability and development can only be achieved through trustworthy leadership and a unifying national project.

While some abroad try to sow doubt and amplify questions, inside Morocco, the response is a stronger rallying around the throne and a firm belief that Morocco is steadily advancing, despite regional and international challenges.

History has proven that hostile media campaigns only strengthen Moroccans’ attachment to their King, and attempts to tarnish his image collide with the solid wall of popular loyalty.

While some indulge in inventing “secrets,” Moroccans prefer a clearer language: that of sincere love and deeply rooted loyalty.
