Moroccan Anas Bari Achieves Global Recognition in AI by Winning the Martin Luther King Award at New York University

Moroccan professor Anas Bari, a specialist in artificial intelligence, has gained international recognition by being awarded the 2025 Martin Luther King Faculty Award from New York University.
This prestigious award reflects his deep commitment to education and scientific research, as well as his significant contributions to developing innovative AI-powered tools to address global challenges.
The university administration highlighted that Professor Bari has led multiple research groups focusing on the application of AI technologies to tackle critical issues in public health, climate change, and the fight against misinformation. Among the projects he supervised were solutions aimed at combating climate change, which have helped enhance countries’ capabilities in dealing with environmental challenges. Additionally, he played a key role in developing intelligent systems to detect and combat false information, a growing problem in the digital age.
His achievements extend beyond these fields, as he has also contributed to pandemic preparedness. Through his research, innovative models and tools have been developed to predict disease outbreaks and assist governments in formulating proactive strategies to manage epidemics effectively.
