FIFA President Gianni Infantino: King Mohammed VI’s Support Has Made Morocco a Global Football Model

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has praised Morocco’s leading role on the African and international football stage, affirming that the support and vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI have made the Kingdom a model to follow in the development of football.
In a message posted on his official Instagram account, Infantino expressed his deep admiration for the remarkable progress achieved by Morocco, stressing that the inauguration of FIFA’s African office within the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat will represent a historic milestone in uniting the 54 African federations, strengthening the continent’s position, and connecting it with the rest of the world. He stated, “Morocco brings African football closer to the world and brings the world closer to a continent with immense football potential.”
The FIFA President also noted that the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium has now become “a modern and innovative facility that reflects to the world the tremendous progress Morocco has made in football.” He also mentioned attending the final of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which showcased the rapid growth of women’s football, before congratulating the Nigerian team on winning the title.
Infantino concluded his tribute with special thanks to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for his unlimited support for Moroccan football, to the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation Fouzi Lekjaa, and to the President of the Confederation of African Football Patrice Motsepe, for what he described as “exceptional work that has yielded tangible results visible to the entire world.”
