South Korean technology powerhouse Naver, one of the leading names in the digital innovation sector, has announced the construction of an advanced data center dedicated to artificial intelligence technologies on Moroccan soil. This ambitious project aims to serve European, African, and Middle Eastern markets, leveraging Morocco’s strategic geographic position.

The new center will run on clean energy with a capacity of up to 500 megawatts, reflecting the project’s commitment to environmental standards and sustainability. It will also be directly connected to Europe via a subsea cable, ensuring high-speed and efficient data transfer across continents.

This massive tech initiative is being developed through a multi-party partnership that includes Naver Cloud, the company’s cloud computing arm, as well as Nexus Core Systems and Lloyds Capital. In addition, global AI leader NVIDIA and Taqa Morocco are contributing to the project’s technical and energy-related aspects.

This investment represents a significant boost to Morocco’s standing on the global digital innovation map, further enhancing its appeal as a preferred destination for major tech ventures—especially amid a global shift toward artificial intelligence and green energy.
