A Maritime Trade Agreement Between Morocco and Israel Paves the Way for Enhanced Economic Cooperation

The Israeli side has approved a maritime trade cooperation agreement with the Kingdom of Morocco, which is expected to enter into force within the next thirty days.
The agreement includes a set of provisions regulating maritime transport, such as safety and security requirements, port access, taxation matters, dispute resolution mechanisms, in addition to customs duties and charges related to loading and unloading.
It also stipulates the mutual recognition of official maritime documents between the two countries and guarantees equal treatment for their ships and maritime companies.
This step is seen as a new milestone in the path of strengthening bilateral cooperation, as this maritime opening is expected to boost trade exchanges and open new horizons for economic collaboration between the two parties.
