Bourita: Morocco Believes in Africa and Bets on Sustainable Solutions Instead of Slogans – The Continent Does Not Need Fake Leadership

ALDAR/

Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Residing Abroad, Nasser Bourita, affirmed during his speech at the Parliamentary Forum of the Presidents of Foreign Affairs Committees of African Parliaments, held in Rabat, that Morocco adopts an optimistic vision toward the African continent, based on serious work and concrete commitment, far from hollow rhetoric and easy solutions. He emphasized that the Kingdom views Africa as a land of opportunities and promising potential, whereas some perceive it only as a field of challenges and problems.

Bourita stressed that Morocco’s African policy is founded on the principle of realistic optimism, rejecting the pessimistic mindset that fuels negative perceptions about the continent, as well as any form of opportunism that seeks to impose guardianship over African countries or direct them against their sovereign will. He affirmed that Africa does not need fake leaders who impose themselves through illegitimate means and seek to undermine the sovereignty of nations, turning them into dependent entities. Instead, what Africa needs is genuine partnerships based on mutual respect and active cooperation.

In this context, the minister emphasized that Morocco’s commitment to Africa is not just about slogans but is reflected in tangible projects and programs aimed at achieving real African integration. He explained that the Kingdom bets on sustainable solutions, even if they are long-term and difficult to implement, rather than relying on quick fixes that do not provide real answers to the continent’s challenges.

Bourita added that Morocco pursues a clear policy of supporting development and investment in key sectors within Africa, believing that the future of the continent must be shaped by its own people, with strong determination and a strategic vision, free from external interference or imposed agendas serving narrow interests. He concluded by reaffirming that Morocco will remain a reliable partner for Africa, always striving to build relationships based on sincere cooperation and serious efforts for a better future for the continent and its people.
