Syria Refuses to Release Algerian Soldiers and Polisario Fighters: A Damning Proof Against Algeria and Polisario for Their Involvement in the Massacre of the Syrian People

ALDAR / Analysis

The correspondent of Monte Carlo Radio in Damascus, Adi Mansour, revealed that Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa has rejected a request from Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf to release detainees belonging to the Algerian army and fighters from the Polisario Front, who were captured during the war in Syria. If this information proves accurate, it places Algeria in an extremely delicate position, contradicting its repeated claims that its army never intervenes beyond its borders. It also raises questions about the real role Algeria plays in regional conflicts.

Algeria has always insisted on its doctrine of “non-intervention,” but the presence of Algerian military personnel in Syria proves otherwise and fuels suspicions about the true nature of their mission on the ground. Was Algeria part of an international network conducting covert military operations? Or were some of its units deployed as auxiliary forces in a foreign conflict? These questions necessitate an international investigation to uncover the truth.

As for the Polisario Front, which has already been accused of collusion with terrorist groups in the Sahel region, it now faces an even more serious accusation: sending its fighters to participate in foreign wars. If these allegations are confirmed, it would mean that the Polisario is no longer merely a separatist movement but has become an active player in transnational armed conflicts. This would further strengthen international calls to classify it as a terrorist organization.

The involvement of Algeria and the Polisario in the Syrian war could have serious consequences. On one hand, Algeria risks facing diplomatic pressure for violating the sovereignty of another state and participating in a bloody conflict. On the other hand, these revelations could prompt the international community to reconsider the true nature of the Polisario, highlighting that it is not just a movement advocating independence but rather a military force engaged in conflicts far from its home continent.

The matter is not yet settled, but these information leaks raise a wave of questions about the real role of Algeria and the Polisario in the region. Is this an isolated incident, or part of a broader strategy carried out in the shadows? The coming days may bring new developments, but one thing is certain: this scandal will tarnish the image of Algeria and the Polisario on the international stage and could lead to further repercussions.
