The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Kingdom of Morocco celebrated, on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the Congress Palace in Salé, the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, in the presence of several Moroccan officials, led by Minister of Health and Social Protection Amine Tehraoui, as well as representatives of national, local, parliamentary and military authorities, members of the diplomatic corps and international organizations, and figures from various fields.
In her opening remarks, Chinese Ambassador to Morocco Yu Jinsong said that her country had achieved a “historic leap” over the past 77 years, noting that the Chinese people, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, had moved “from a nation on the brink of peril to a nation advancing toward great rejuvenation.”
The ambassador highlighted that China continues to pursue a development path suited to its national realities, by combining national development with international opening-up and promoting high-quality development. She stressed that Beijing maintains “firm confidence” in the future of its economy despite the complexities and changes in the international situation.
In this context, Yu Jinsong noted that China’s gross domestic product approached 70 trillion yuan in the first half of this year, recording annual growth of 4.7%, while emerging industries continued to develop, particularly artificial intelligence and new energy vehicles.
The ambassador also reaffirmed China’s commitment to openness and cooperation, and to cooperation based on mutual benefit and win-win outcomes, stressing that expanding openness is a “fundamental policy” pursued by her country over the long term, rather than a temporary measure.
The ambassador also addressed the Global Development Initiative launched five years ago by Chinese President Xi Jinping, noting that it had evolved from a Chinese proposal into an international consensus, after receiving the support of more than 130 countries and international organizations. More than $23 billion has been mobilized and over 1,800 cooperation projects have been implemented, benefiting populations in more than 120 countries.
In conclusion, Yu Jinsong affirmed China’s readiness to continue opening up to the world and strengthening practical cooperation, contributing to ensuring that the benefits of development reach the peoples of different countries more broadly and equitably.
