China launches new batch of Internet satellites into space

China carried out the launch of a new space rocket on Thursday as part of its ongoing efforts to develop a satellite network designed to provide Internet services in low Earth orbit.


The Long March-12 rocket lifted off at 8:32 a.m. Beijing time from the Hainan Commercial Spacecraft Launch Site in the southern province of Hainan.

The rocket carried a batch of Internet satellites, which successfully reached their designated orbit following the launch.

The mission marked the 25th operation in a series of launches of Internet satellites into low Earth orbit, reflecting China’s efforts to expand its space infrastructure and strengthen its capabilities in satellite communications.
