The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Rabat hosted a Moroccan-Chinese youth dialogue on August 26, organized in partnership with the Moroccan Elite of Young Leaders (EMJL). The meeting aimed to strengthen dialogue and communication between young people from the two countries and provide an opportunity to exchange views on the future of Moroccan-Chinese relations.

The meeting, attended by China’s Ambassador to Morocco, Yu Jinsong, and President of the Moroccan Elite of Young Leaders, Amine Benamar, provided a platform for discussion and the exchange of perspectives on a range of issues of common interest, particularly economic and social development, youth-related issues, and the transformations shaping the global order.

In her remarks, Ambassador Yu Jinsong underscored the important role young people can play in bringing the Moroccan and Chinese peoples closer together. She called for greater mutual understanding, communication, and the sharing of experiences, contributing to the strengthening of the bonds of friendship between the two countries.

She also stressed the need for Moroccan and Chinese youth to join forces in advancing the strategic partnership between Rabat and Beijing towards broader horizons and opening up new areas of cooperation across various sectors.

For their part, young members of the Moroccan Elite of Young Leaders delivered presentations addressing aspects of Morocco’s economic and social development, while also putting forward ideas and perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing the Kingdom amid rapidly evolving international dynamics.

Participants also discussed the future of Moroccan-Chinese relations. Moroccan youth shared their views and aspirations regarding the development of cooperation between the two countries, particularly at the human, economic, and cultural levels, while emphasizing the importance of investing in the potential of young people and building sustainable partnerships.

The meeting comes against the backdrop of growing Moroccan-Chinese relations and reflects the two sides’ commitment to strengthening exchanges between the younger generations. In this context, youth can serve as an additional bridge for consolidating bilateral ties and developing future partnerships between Rabat and Beijing.
