A high-level Kenyan parliamentary delegation visited Morocco between September 1 and 7, expressing deep admiration for the Kingdom’s development momentum under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
Led by Godfrey Osotsi, Chairman of the Kenyan Senate Committee, the delegation witnessed firsthand Morocco’s major achievements in infrastructure, security and stability, as well as the Kingdom’s leadership in decentralization and investment attraction. In a statement, Osotsi emphasized that “Morocco is a land of peace and security, and a source of inspiration with its excellence across multiple fields.”
The visit was not limited to praising Morocco’s experience. It also reaffirmed Kenya’s renewed support for the Autonomy Plan as the only realistic and sustainable solution to the Moroccan Sahara issue, further strengthening the Kingdom’s diplomatic stance within the continent.
The meeting between the Kenyan delegation and the Moroccan House of Councillors paved the way for the launch of a Morocco–Kenya Parliamentary Friendship Group, aimed at boosting legislative cooperation and supporting common African causes, reflecting the shared will of both nations to build strong South–South partnerships.
A highlight of the visit will be the delegation’s stop in Dakhla, where Kenyan parliamentarians will witness Morocco’s regional development model in the area—an embodiment of the long-term Royal vision to transform the Southern Provinces into a hub for shared African development.
Through this visit, Morocco continues to consolidate its position as a key player in Africa, not only through its economic and political partnerships, but also by weaving parliamentary and people-to-people ties that reflect the African depth of Moroccan diplomacy.
