Morocco: The Second Most Attractive Destination for the Wealthy in Africa After Seychelles

A report issued by Henley & Partners, a company specializing in immigration and financial consulting, revealed that Morocco ranks second among African countries most attractive to the wealthy and millionaires, following Seychelles which topped the list. Morocco is expected to receive nearly 100 new millionaires in 2025, the same number projected for Mauritius.

This ranking is part of a global report reflecting the movement of wealthy individuals around the world, focusing on destinations that provide a favorable environment for investment, political stability, quality of life, and legal facilities that attract high-net-worth individuals.

In recent years, Morocco has been one of the African countries witnessing remarkable development in its economic infrastructure, with major projects in tourism, industry, and renewable energy sectors, which enhance its appeal to foreign investors. In addition to its strategic location as a bridge between the African and European continents, the country enjoys relative political stability and is implementing economic reforms to improve the business climate.

The report also highlighted the importance of “citizenship-by-investment” programs offered by some countries like Seychelles and Mauritius, which provide opportunities for wealthy individuals to obtain special citizenships or residencies in exchange for financial investments, thereby facilitating mobility and stability for high-net-worth individuals.

Given the increasing number of millionaires seeking more stable environments and promising investment opportunities, Morocco appears to benefit from this regional and international dynamic, attracting capital and skills that contribute to the development of the national economy.

In the same context, official figures indicate that Morocco continuously improves its economic and social indicators, making the Kingdom an attractive destination not only for tourists but also for wealthy businessmen and investors looking for new opportunities in Africa.
