International Court of Justice Dismisses Sudan’s Case Against the UAE Due to Lack of Jurisdiction

ALDAR/
In an unprecedented development not seen in 25 years, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) has decided to remove the case filed by the Sudanese Armed Forces against the United Arab Emirates from its general list.
The decision came during the stage of examining provisional measures, where the Court clearly determined that it lacks the legal jurisdiction to consider the case at this phase.
This ruling is considered a legal victory for the UAE and underscores the Court’s commitment to upholding the principles of international law and precisely defining the scope of its jurisdiction. It also reflects the strength of the UAE’s legal position in the face of accusations that lack a clear legal foundation.
The decision reaffirms the importance of respecting international judicial procedures and adhering to strict legal principles when presenting cases before international courts, especially those concerning inter-state relations and national sovereignty.
