Paris Responds Firmly to the Algerian Regime… French Foreign Minister: We Have Decided to Expel 12 Algerian Agents and Recall Our Ambassador to Algeria for Consultations

ALDAR/
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot announced on his official account on the platform “X” that his country has decided to respond to what he described as an “unjustified escalation” by the Algerian authorities.
In his post, Barrot stated: “The Algerian authorities have chosen escalation; we are responding as previously announced. In response to their unjustified and incomprehensible decision, we are expelling 12 Algerian agents and recalling our ambassador to Algeria for consultations.”
The minister also reaffirmed France’s commitment to dialogue but stressed that it cannot be one-sided: “Dialogue, always — but not one-way.”
This French decision marks a new escalation in the ongoing diplomatic tensions between Paris and Algiers, a relationship that has seen repeated fluctuations in recent years due to sensitive political and security issues.
