Morocco and the United Nations Prepare to Open an International Center to Support Peacekeeping Operations

A state-of-the-art, one-of-a-kind center dedicated to enhancing peacekeeping capacities under the United Nations’ banner is set to open on Moroccan soil in September 2025.
The new center, jointly funded by both parties, will be devoted to training thousands of personnel in essential peacekeeping skills. It will also serve as a platform for hosting diplomatic summits and high-level meetings to discuss issues related to international peace and security.
This project reinforces Morocco’s active role in supporting UN efforts, with the Kingdom annually contributing around 1,700 soldiers to peacekeeping missions in several conflict zones around the world, including the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The initiative stands as a renewed affirmation of the commitment shared by Rabat and Washington to promoting regional and global stability by developing qualified human resources and engaging with global security challenges through a comprehensive and joint vision.
