Morocco and the United States Strengthen Military Cooperation Through Joint Special Forces Training

The U.S. Special Operations Command Africa (SOCAFRICA) hosted a joint military training exercise between the 19th Special Forces Group of the U.S. Army and elite units of the Moroccan military in Marrakech from January 28 to February 25, 2025.

aThe training involved the 1st and 2nd Airborne Infantry Brigades of the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces, along with the Royal Gendarmerie and the Special Forces unit of the Royal Moroccan Air Force.

This exercise aimed to enhance operational coordination between Moroccan and U.S. special forces, exchange expertise in strategic planning and the execution of special operations in complex environments, and improve combat readiness to address shared security threats.

This ongoing military cooperation reflects the depth of the strategic defense partnership between Morocco and the United States, as both nations remain committed to strengthening their forces’ capabilities in addressing regional and international security challenges.
