Morocco is preparing to host the 58th session of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), along with the Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development, in March 2026. This event reflects the growing role of the Kingdom in the continental economic scene and reaffirms its firm commitment to enhancing African cooperation and achieving sustainable development across the continent.

The choice of Morocco to host this international conference confirms its distinguished status at the African level, and it is the culmination of the diplomatic efforts led by King Mohammed VI to strengthen economic and strategic partnerships between African nations. This decision also reflects the great trust that member countries place in Morocco’s ability to lead major economic discussions and provide practical solutions to support growth and development in Africa.

Amid current economic challenges, this session will provide an opportunity to discuss key issues such as investment, financial reforms, and economic integration between African countries, as well as exploring ways to enhance cooperation between the public and private sectors to drive development. The conference will also serve as a platform for exchanging experiences and expertise among various African economic actors, with the aim of formulating more inclusive and sustainable economic policies.

Morocco’s hosting of this event once again reflects its steadfast commitment to supporting the African development agenda and enhancing the continent’s role in the global economy, within a comprehensive vision based on solidarity and joint cooperation among African nations.
