Chinese Ambassador to Morocco Highlights the Significance of Launching the First Direct Flight Between Shanghai and Casablanca

Today, Sunday, the ceremony for the launch of the first direct flight between the Chinese city of Shanghai and the Moroccan city of Casablanca took place, operated by the airline China Eastern Airlines through its subsidiary Shanghai Airlines. This flight, which will operate three times a week, represents a significant step in strengthening cultural and economic communication between China and Morocco.

In this context, the Chinese Ambassador to Morocco, Li Changlin, stated during the inauguration ceremony: “It is a great honor to welcome you to this special occasion, and today we are witnessing the launch of the first flight from Shanghai to Casablanca, carrying 230 passengers on board.”

The ambassador added: “This new flight will have a major positive impact on enhancing the human and cultural ties between our two countries. Additionally, next week, we will also witness the resumption of flights between Casablanca and Beijing, which will contribute to strengthening cultural and commercial exchanges between China and Morocco.”

The ambassador pointed out that this event coincides with the Chinese New Year celebrations, which adds a special significance to the occasion. He emphasized that these flights will greatly facilitate travel for Chinese tourists and investors to Morocco, contributing to enhancing investment opportunities between the two countries.

He also mentioned that the cities of Shanghai and Casablanca have established a twinning partnership for several years, reflecting the ongoing progress in the relationship between the two cities and peoples. He added that these new air routes represent an important step toward enhancing this cooperation.
