Unprecedented Surge in Interest for Studying and Doing Business in China… Chinese Embassy in Morocco Enhances Visa Services

Rabat / Meryem Hafiani

China continues to attract a growing number of Moroccan students and businesspeople. In 2024, around 7,000 Moroccan students were enrolled in Chinese universities, representing nearly one-third of all visa applications submitted to the Chinese Embassy in Morocco. With the new academic year approaching at the end of July, visa applications have increased significantly, and approximately 2,000 applications remain in the initial processing stage on the online platform.

To address this high demand, the Chinese Embassy has mobilized all its human resources and extended working hours to ensure high-quality services, while strengthening internal organization to speed up application processing and minimize waiting times.

The embassy advised students to submit their applications early and not to wait until the last minute before traveling, in order to avoid any delays that could affect their study plans. It also reminded them not to arrive in China too early before the visa is issued, as residence permit applications must be submitted within 30 days of arrival.

For businesspeople wishing to attend major trade fairs, such as the Canton Fair or the China International Import Expo, the embassy recommends submitting visa applications about a month before travel to avoid crowds and ensure a smooth experience.

The embassy concluded its statement by thanking all applicants for their understanding and cooperation, emphasizing that the procedures and services provided aim to support the growing interest in China for both study and business, while ensuring the highest levels of efficiency and quality in handling visa applications.
