The Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Malawi expressed their shared willingness to further strengthen their cooperation in various fields, on Wednesday in Rabat.

During their talks, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, and Malawi’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr. George Chaponda, stated their commitment to further deepening cooperation and raising it to the level of the aspirations of the two Heads of State, His Majesty King Mohammed VI and H.E. Peter Mutharika.

In this regard, the two ministers identified several key sectors to boost this cooperation, notably agriculture, with the goal of ensuring food security, training to meet Malawi’s needs in technical assistance and skills development, in order to contribute to the achievement to its socioeconomic development, as well as other prime sectors for the Malawian government such as health, higher education, and energy.

At the regional and multilateral levels, both officials underlined the importance of intensifying their cooperation to further harmonize their positions within regional, continental, and international bodies, including the African Union and the United Nations.
