In a joint statement from the Macedonian capital, Skopje, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, affirmed that Morocco continues to play a pivotal role in promoting regional stability, guided by the far-sighted vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

Speaking at a press conference alongside his Macedonian counterpart, Timčo Mucunski, Bourita emphasized that Morocco’s strategic geographic location, combined with its balanced political approach, has enabled the Kingdom to emerge as a constructive actor in its regional environment, notably in the Sahel, as well as within the Mediterranean and Arab regions.

The minister pointed out that Morocco has become an indispensable partner for the European Union, especially in the Euro-Mediterranean space, which is facing increasing challenges such as migration, transnational crime, and economic imbalances. In this context, he stressed that Morocco seeks to build a balanced relationship with Europe, based on shared values, mutual interests, and concrete outcomes that benefit both sides.

At the African level, Bourita highlighted the Royal Atlantic initiatives aimed at strengthening security and stability, particularly in light of regional crises affecting neighboring countries. He cited Morocco’s constructive role in the Libyan file as an example of the Kingdom’s active involvement in supporting peaceful solutions.

Regarding the Middle East, the minister reaffirmed Morocco’s unwavering commitment to supporting peace efforts, stemming from the responsibility His Majesty the King holds as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee. He explained that Morocco continuously works to bring the parties in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict closer together, pushing toward a two-state solution that ensures the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, alongside an Israeli state living in peace and security.

Bourita concluded by highlighting the strong alignment between Morocco and North Macedonia in terms of values and stances on international issues, affirming that the two countries share a mutual commitment to supporting peace, dialogue, and constructive crisis resolution.
