The Republic of North Macedonia has expressed its deep appreciation for the reform process undertaken by Morocco over the past two decades, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. This recognition was made in a joint statement signed on Monday in Skopje by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, and his Macedonian counterpart, Mr. Timčo Mucunski.
In this document, North Macedonia voiced its full support for the political, economic, and social reforms carried out by the Kingdom, describing them as a successful model of modernization and sustainable development in the region. The country especially praised Morocco’s new development model, as well as its efforts in advanced regionalization, seen as a key driver for ensuring territorial equity and balanced growth.
Skopje also highlighted the Atlantic initiatives launched by King Mohammed VI in favor of the African continent, aimed at strengthening Africa’s strategic role within the Atlantic space. Three flagship projects were cited: the Process of Atlantic African States, the international initiative to facilitate Sahel countries’ access to the Atlantic Ocean, and the Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline mega-project, which is expected to enhance energy security and spur economic growth in the region.
In this same context, North Macedonia described Morocco as a key regional partner and an essential pillar of stability and development in Africa, emphasizing that the Sovereign’s forward-looking vision has made the Kingdom a strategic actor both on the continental and international levels.
