Millions of Visitors at an Exceptional Event: Moroccan National Security Amazes the Public at the “Open Days” in El Jadida

In recent days, the city of El Jadida witnessed an unprecedented event in the history of the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN). The sixth edition of the Open Days attracted over 2.4 million visitors in just five days — a record-breaking figure that reflects the deep bond between Moroccan citizens and their national police force.
This major event, held in a vast space in El Jadida, became a national gathering point that combined security awareness, the showcasing of the technical and human capacities of various security services, and the strengthening of mutual trust between the police and the public. The historic turnout served as undeniable evidence of the growing engagement of citizens in security matters and their increasing interest in understanding the inner workings of this vital institution.
The event was far more than a technical display of police skills. It offered educational and interactive content aimed at all segments of society — from children to the elderly. The exhibition spaces varied from a forensic police pavilion showcasing the latest in criminal investigation technology, to a special operations area that thrilled visitors with live simulations of crime-fighting missions. Additional sections focused on road safety education, child protection from exploitation, and awareness of the dangers of cybercrime.
The event also saw a strong presence of female officers, highlighting their diverse roles within the security institution and their ability to excel in fields ranging from field investigations to leadership and strategic planning.
In statements to the media, national security officials emphasized that the aim of these Open Days is to “bring the police closer to the citizens” and to instill a culture of security based on transparency, communication, and openness. They affirmed that such events act as a bridge for building trust and serve as an incentive for citizens to cooperate with law enforcement in combating all forms of crime.
The event also drew significant attention from civil society organizations and professionals in education and media, giving the initiative a broad societal dimension.
The choice of El Jadida to host this edition was not arbitrary, but rather part of a decentralization strategy aimed at reaching various regions of the Kingdom. This enabled local residents and visitors to experience something unique and to engage in direct dialogue with police personnel.
Many visitors praised the organization and the awareness messages delivered throughout the event, noting that such initiatives raise public security awareness and reinforce the sense of safety and belonging
