Eswatini Reaffirms Support for Morocco, Rejects Suspicious Agreement with Polisario within African Bloc

ALDAR/
The Kingdom of Eswatini has unequivocally rejected what it described as a non-binding agreement recently signed between the Executive Secretariat of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the Polisario Front. This position was expressed through a verbal note addressed to the organization’s General Secretariat, in which Eswatini made it clear that the agreement does not reflect its official stance and holds no obligation for the country.
Eswatini reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Moroccan autonomy initiative, describing it as a serious, credible, and realistic solution to the regional dispute over the Sahara. The country reiterated that the Moroccan proposal represents the most viable path toward resolving this long-standing artificial conflict.
This clear position in favor of Morocco deals yet another blow to the Polisario Front and highlights the ongoing erosion of its support within various regional platforms. It also underlines the growing momentum of Moroccan diplomacy under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, particularly within African arenas that were once leveraged against Morocco’s interests.
This shift underscores the effectiveness of Morocco’s strategic vision, which is grounded in a calm yet impactful presence across the continent, and its commitment to fostering economic and development-based partnerships built on mutual respect and shared interests.
