Bourita in New York: “The Morocco-Spain partnership cannot be built on unfounded accusations”

Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, said on Thursday in New York that “partnerships cannot be built on unfounded allegations and sterile rhetoric,” following talks with his Spanish counterpart, José Manuel Albares.
“The statements made by some Spanish political actors unfortunately show that they do not appreciate the value of this partnership. Worse still, they do not know today’s Morocco and have no understanding of the migration issue or how it is managed,” Bourita said in a statement to the press.
In this regard, the minister stressed that migration, partnership and good-neighborly relations “cannot be managed through escalation, allegations or unfounded accusations.”
Bourita also deplored the fact that this sterile debate continues to this day, fueled by “prominent political actors who continue to engage in controversy, allegations and gratuitous accusations, thereby undermining the value of this partnership”.
