Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, continues his distinguished diplomatic tour across Europe, with his latest stop in Slovenia marking another milestone that reflects the growing momentum of Moroccan diplomacy on the European stage.

This visit is part of a series of high-level meetings that have taken Bourita in recent weeks to several European capitals, including Paris, Madrid, Budapest, Tallinn, Zagreb, and Chișinău. These visits have served as key opportunities to strengthen bilateral partnerships, expand the horizons of political and economic cooperation, and, most importantly, reaffirm support for Morocco’s autonomy proposal regarding the Sahara.

Notably, each of these diplomatic stops has highlighted a growing European consensus in favor of Morocco’s sovereignty over its southern provinces. Several European governments have openly expressed their endorsement of Morocco’s autonomy initiative as a serious and realistic solution to the long-standing regional dispute.

Bourita appears to be succeeding in what can be described as a “diplomatic breakthrough” within the European Union, as Morocco’s position now enjoys support from political actors of various orientations. This reflects Rabat’s success in promoting its vision based on dialogue, development, and stability.

It is worth noting that this dynamic diplomatic movement is not happening in a vacuum. Rather, it is part of a strategic vision led by King Mohammed VI, aimed at strengthening Morocco’s status as a reliable and balanced partner in its regional and international environment.

Bourita’s successive visits also highlight how Morocco has evolved into a key player in regional geopolitical dynamics—not only concerning the Sahara issue, but also through its active involvement in major global challenges such as migration, counterterrorism, and climate change.

Amid this accelerating diplomatic momentum, attention now turns to Bourita’s upcoming stops, which are expected to consolidate further achievements and solidify Morocco’s position as a rising diplomatic power in Europe and beyond.
