Morocco and Burkina Faso reaffirmed on Wednesday their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation and making the multidimensional partnership between both countries an exceptional model of inter-African South-South cooperation.

In a joint Communiqué issued in Ouagadougou following talks between Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates MFA Nasser Bourita and his Burkinabe peer Mr. Karamoko Jean-Marie Traoré, the two ministers welcomed the excellent and deep traditional fraternal ties between the Moroccan and Burkinabe peoples and the mutual respect between His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, and His brother, His Excellency Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of Burkina Faso and Head of State.
This meeting was an opportunity for the two parties to engage in discussions on new areas of cooperation between the two brotherly countries, such as air services, transport, and infrastructure, as well as to sign several legal instruments relating primarily to security, trade, labor, housing, transport, agriculture, training, and youth.
MFA Bourita and Mr.Traoré also reaffirmed their shared willingness to make the multidimensional partnership between Morocco and Burkina Faso an exceptional model of South-South cooperation in Africa, as well as their determination to reinforce and diversify bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic and trade fields.
In this regard, the two ministers welcomed the steady pace of mutually beneficial and fruitful cooperation, as well as the prospects for diversifying and consolidating this partnership in promising sectors such as security and defense, transport, training, agriculture, food security, water, and health.
They took this opportunity to welcome the progress made and the very satisfactory level of implementation of the commitments of the 4th Session of the Morocco-Burkina Faso Joint Cooperation Commission, held in June 2023 in Ouagadougou, and reiterated their commitment to further enshrine the momentum generated by the important legal framework resulting from this Session.
