Mission accomplished… China sends new observation satellite into orbit

As part of strengthening its space fleet, China launched today, Tuesday, a “Long March-4B” carrier rocket to place the new satellite “Yaogan-47” into orbit.

The remote sensing satellite lifted off at 11:41 a.m. Beijing time from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China and successfully reached its designated orbit.

“Yaogan-47” will be used for a range of important applications, including national land surveys, urban planning, road network design, as well as crop yield estimation, environmental management, and disaster prevention and mitigation.

This launch marks the 614th mission of the “Long March” series of carrier rockets, reflecting China’s ongoing development of its space capabilities.
