A Fake Document and a Scandalous Disgrace… When Disinformation Becomes Official Policy in Algeria
A Fake Document and a Scandalous Disgrace… When Disinformation Becomes Official Policy in Algeria

Once again, the Algerian regime’s electronic propaganda machine has released a new fabrication dripping with mediocrity — a desperate attempt to mislead public opinion and confuse followers over the issue of the Moroccan Sahara. The document, allegedly issued by the White House and suggesting a shift in the U.S. stance on Morocco’s territorial integrity, is nothing more than a poorly worded draft that bears no resemblance to any official correspondence or the basic norms of diplomatic communication. It’s yet another indication of the chaotic media and political state that Algeria’s regime currently finds itself in.
From the early hours of the day, this so-called “document” was circulated across social media platforms, pushed by fake accounts and sponsored pages operating within the Algerian regime’s troll network. But even the most superficial review — whether linguistic or visual — exposes its fragility and falsity. There is no trace of this document on any official U.S. platform — not on the White House’s website, nor on the State Department’s channels, nor in any credible international media outlet. What’s astonishing is that the creators of this hoax didn’t even bother to check the English, which is riddled with mistakes a first-grade student wouldn’t make, such as “United States of Amcrica” and “Thank you for interest,” along with incoherent and nonsensical sentences.
As for its appearance, it’s another disaster. The document’s design lacks even the most basic elements of professionalism — from the font used, to the layout, to the fake official seal that reads “TUIF WHITE HOIJE” instead of “THE WHITE HOUSE” — a glaring typo that reveals the true intent behind this document: pure disinformation. Even the signatory name, “John A. Miller,” is entirely fictitious and has no presence in any U.S. government body, further confirming that this was concocted in the shadows by those whose goal is to attack Morocco, disturbed as they are by its growing diplomatic successes.
This type of forgery no longer surprises observers, as the Algerian regime has long relied on state-directed media and digital propaganda in a desperate effort to undermine the positions of countries that support Morocco’s territorial unity. After running out of diplomatic and political options, Algeria has resorted to manufacturing illusions and spreading lies — a reflection of deep desperation and a strategic bankruptcy that can no longer be hidden.
The reality remains that U.S. support for Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara has not changed; in fact, it has been reinforced since President Donald Trump’s administration recognized Moroccan sovereignty over the southern provinces — a position reaffirmed in Trump’s recent message to King Mohammed VI on the occasion of Throne Day. Fabricating a fake document to claim otherwise only reveals the confusion of a regime that has lost its way and is sinking into deeper international isolation due to its stubbornness and hostility toward its neighbors.
What’s most unfortunate about this incident isn’t just the forgery itself, but the audacity to lie in the name of sovereign foreign institutions — a move that tramples on all political ethics and norms. This is a disgraceful scandal added to a long list of failures haunting a regime stuck in the past, replacing truth with propaganda, diplomacy with deceit, and policy with cheap Photoshop.
