With a Royal Vision Committed to Strengthening Democracy… Morocco Accelerates Preparations for Upcoming Legislative Elections

Under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco continues to reinforce its democratic path through early preparations for the upcoming legislative elections, scheduled for 2026. This political momentum stems from the Sovereign’s high directives aimed at strengthening the democratic process and ensuring the integrity and transparency of the electoral process.

In this context, the relevant authorities, in coordination with various political actors, are working to finalize consultations on the draft electoral law. The new version of the electoral code is expected to be adopted before the end of 2025.

This process reflects the spirit of political governance consistently emphasized by the King in his speeches—including the recent Throne Speech—particularly regarding the modernization of the legal framework governing elections and the establishment of transparent rules for democratic competition that upholds the will of voters and safeguards constitutional achievements.

The national political scene is currently witnessing intensive consultations between the Ministry of the Interior and the various political parties, with the aim of reaching a national consensus on the proposed amendments. The goal is to enhance citizens’ trust in elected institutions and ensure the elections are conducted in an atmosphere of responsibility and credibility.

As the Kingdom prepares to enter a new electoral phase, the Royal Vision remains the cornerstone for building strong institutions that reflect the heartbeat of Moroccan society and keep pace with its democratic and development aspirations.
